    What Do You Need to Ship a Package to the USA?

    To ship a package to the United States, you’ll need to provide certain essential documents and details based on the content, value, and purpose of your shipment.

    First and foremost, the recipient’s full name, delivery address, HS Code (GTIP) on the invoice, phone number, and postal code must be entered completely and accurately.

    If your shipment is commercial, a proforma or commercial invoice must be prepared. This invoice should clearly state the product name, unit price, total value, and a description of the items. For personal shipments, this declaration is often sufficient when filled out directly on the airway bill.

    Please note that some products may be subject to import restrictions or require special permits under U.S. customs regulations. It’s important to ensure that your items do not appear on any restricted or prohibited goods list.

    Your shipping cost is based on either the actual weight or the volumetric weight (also known as dimensional weight) of the package — whichever is greater.
    Volumetric weight is calculated using the following formula:

    Volumetric Weight (kg) = Width × Length × Height (cm) / 5000

    The higher of the two values is used for billing purposes.
